Mike Nelson

Mike Nelson founded Afonova Nelson Homes, LLC in 2022 as President. Mike's primary role is working with potential clients and each homeowner to build the greatest new home — or the opportunity to remodel an existing condominium or home.

Mike started his career in construction in 1999 with Turner Construction in Miami, FL. His time with Turner took him through many roles in Miami, New York, and Stamford, CT — most notably as a field engineer and then a superintendent at The Continuum, a luxury high-rise condominium built on the point on South Beach.

Prior to launching Afonova Nelson Homes, in 2014 Mike joined BCB Homes, a premier builder in the Port Royal Naples area. His first role was project manager, building many new homes and numerous custom renovations; he left as a Project Executive, working with new clients to develop their projects from conception through construction to completion.

Mike graduated from Everglades University in 2010 with a B.S. in Construction Management and in 2012 with a Master's in Business Administration. With his degrees and career experience, he has held nearly every position in the field — field engineer, superintendent, general superintendent, project manager, project executive, and now president.

In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Viktoriya and their two sons, James and Vlad.

Tom Jandovitz

Tom Jandovitz is the Vice President for Afonova Nelson Homes, LLC. In this role, Tom oversees the general management and strategic planning of the company's daily operations, as well as the Project Managers and field staff for all projects. He works in close collaboration with Mike, our clients, their design teams, and our construction teams to ensure every project is successful and exceeds our clients' expectations.

In 2000, Tom joined a high-end, multi-generational home building firm where he gained hands-on field experience working with tradespeople, vendors, and architects — while developing expertise in client relations, estimating, pre-construction evaluations, project management, and successful project delivery.

In 2003, Tom established his own firm in Connecticut, delivering thoughtfully designed, well-constructed homes on budget, on schedule, and with the highest quality craftsmanship. He won Best in State awards from the Connecticut Homebuilding Association in recognition of their architecture, interior design, workmanship, and unique custom features.

In 2015, Tom relocated to Southwest Florida and joined BCB Homes, where he was responsible for BCB's largest renovation projects as well as new custom homes — ensuring a superior experience for every client, architect, and colleague.

A native of Connecticut and a graduate of the University of Colorado, Tom worked for an international IT services firm before changing paths to follow his true passion: custom home building and remodeling. He enjoys spending his free time outdoors with his wife Jocelyn and their four children.

Viktoriya Afonova

Interior design was always a passion of mine, and I was excited to dive in and learn more. I loved the idea of being able to transform spaces and bring my clients' visions to life. From window coverings to kitchens and bathrooms to flooring, I wanted to be able to handle it all. I started my own design business in 2009, working with a crew of talented tradespeople to bring my designs to life. It wasn't easy, but the joy of seeing the final product and the gratitude of my clients made it all worthwhile.

I especially loved working with my vendors because without them, none of this would be possible. Now nearly a decade later, I'm working towards getting my ASID certification, which will open even more opportunities for me. I don't have a particular favorite room or style; I just love taking the time to understand my clients' needs and helping them create a space that reflects who they are.

It's the people I work with, both my clients and my team, that bring me the most joy and gratitude in this career.
